With the Australian landscape as the storyteller, the oil paintings of accomplished artist and acclaimed illustrator Emma Stuart link our mental health with our connection to nature. Gently broaching themes of anxiety and depression, the story tells how change can bring unexpected joy and growth. It carries a strong message of positivity to promote our connection to nature and the power we have to heal ourselves and each other.

Emma’s second children’s book Midnight Magpies. Published by Brolly Books in December 2020, the story is set in an urban landscape where the beautiful warble of Australian magpies lightens the night with magical music. Illustrated by renown Australian artist Emma Stuart, the story comes to life in beautiful watercolour pages. It’s a story of light in the darkness and the colourful magic of unexpected connection through music. An uplifting tale inspired by the emotional roller coaster of living with COVID restrictions in Melbourne, Emma shares this book of friendship, hope and the power of dreams.
